Pundit Gary Neville has been left blown away by the speed of Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking in the middle third of the pitch.
Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways on Sunday, snapping a run of five games without a victory.
Newcastle United were the victims as they suffered a 4-1 thumping in North London.
Destiny Udogie and Richarlison had Tottenham 2-0 up before the break, with Richarlison and Son Heung-min making it 4-0 after half-time.
Newcastle did pull one back late on but this was all about Tottenham and their impressive attacking play.
Gary Neville blown away by Tottenham Hotspur football
Ange Postecoglou has received plenty of praise – and criticism – for his daring approach at Tottenham.
The Australian wants free-flowing attacking football no matter who the opponents are and that does get Spurs in trouble sometimes.
Sunday was a superb display though with Tottenham looking confident and dangerous going forward.
Tottenham’s style of play dazzled Gary Neville, who highlighted one specific part of ‘Angeball’ which impressed him.
Neville told Sky Sports (10/12, 4:50pm) that Tottenham’s speed moving through the middle third of the pitch simply ‘blows you away’.
Tottenham launched an attack at rapid speed, ending with Brennan Johnson flashing a ball across goal and out for a goal kick.

Neville called Tottenham’s speed ‘fantastic’ but called for more composure and some cool decision-making in attack.
“The speed of play through the middle third is fantastic from Spurs, every time you watch them it blows you away,” said Neville. “You just wonder then, in the final third, can they then compose themselves and be a little cooler,” he added.
Tottenham did find that composure shortly after those comments with Son crossing for Udogie to tap home.
Son repeated the trick, beating Kieran Trippier to the byline for a second time before finding Richarlison for 2-0.
Richarlison also showed a cool head to finish Pedro Porro’s pass in the second half, handing Tottenham an unassailable lead.
So much of Tottenham’s play is incredible to watch, but they do need to find that sharp end product on a consistent basis.
Johnson certainly needs to add that aspect to his game but as we see Tottenham develop under Postecoglou, this aspect will surely arrive down the line.
