Manchester United have been linked to Arsenal star.
Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil
Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville may be squirming with frustration if the Red Devils make a move for Mesut Ozil this summer.
The Mirror reported earlier this month that manager Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Ozil to Old Trafford.
The pair worked together at Real Madrid, forging a strong relationship which still holds strong today.
Ozil has only one year left on his contract at Arsenal, and has divided opinion with his performances.
Gary Neville is in the critical camp.
Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil after missing a chance to score
The pundit slammed Ozil’s performance earlier this month, telling SkySports: “With Mesut Ozil, I can’t be watching him play football sometimes — and that sounds disrespectful from someone who was a clobber as a football player.
“But when you watch [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo, who give their all in every single match, I won’t sit here and accept that someone plays football looking like he’s down a coal mine.”
Neville surely won’t be happy if the German pitches up at his beloved Manchester United in the summer.
He would have to grit his teeth and hope for the best, but plenty of Manchester United fans will feel the same way.
Four seasons in England have seen Ozil lose his mystique, and United supporters have enjoyed his struggles at competitors Arsenal.
