Gary Neville has told Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports, that he doesn’t believe West Ham United will make the top four this season.

David Moyes’ side made it back into the Champions League qualification spots last night, as they beat Wolves 3-2 at Molineux.

West Ham were impressive as they picked up the three points to move ahead of Chelsea.

But Neville still doesn’t think that the Hammers will be able to last the course.

“I don’t think West Ham will make the top four, but it has brought Leicester back into a position where you think they are not as comfortable as I thought before the game,” Neville said.

“It does make you think about what’s coming up and that West Ham v Leicester game.

“But brilliant for West Ham. I think if Rice was fit they could potentially create a massive shock, but I just think they’ll fall short and won’t get into the top four.”

West Ham certainly benefitted from a weekend where many of their rivals slipped up.

Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur both failed to win games they were expected to, which presented Moyes’ men with a chance to regain an advantage.

West Ham are now in pole position to grab fourth spot again, but their fixture list looks tricky.

West Ham face games against the likes of Leicester City, Chelsea and Everton both the campaign finishes – which could well be season defining games.
