Gary Neville said on Sky Sports Football (6:14pm, December 6, 2020) that Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale was looking happy as a substitute against Arsenal on Sunday evening.

The former Manchester United defender, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, was on co-commentary duty for Tottenham’s North London derby against Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 31-year-old Wales international winger, who returned to Spurs on loan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020, was an unused substitute, as Jose Mourinho’s side won 2-0.

In the 87th minute of the match, Neville said about Bale on Sky Sports Football (6:14pm, December 6, 2020): ”I’m not being critical. But I’ve watched him last three weeks – he looks really happy. He looks really comfortable watching this game.”

Need to do better

Bale has not been exactly great for Tottenham so far this season, and it is clear that he needs to do better.

The Madrid-owned winger has had games to get to full fitness, and it is now time for him to turn on the style.

True, Spurs are doing well without the winger playing on a regular basis in the Premier League, but they will be a better side with Bale in full flow.

According to WhoScored, Bale has scored one goal in 116 minutes in the Premier League and has scored one goal in five Europa League games for Spurs so far this season.
