Pundit Gary Neville has told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football (26/10, 7:47pm) that he thinks Son Heung-min would be a star at Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur were in action on Monday night, travelling up to Lancashire to take on Burnley at Turf Moor.

They weren’t exactly at their best, but they still claimed a 1-0 win as Son bagged the only goal of the game in the second half.

That took Son’s record for the season to eight goals in just six Premier League games, whilst he also has two assists to his name.

The South Korean is undoubtedly one of the Premier League’s best players, but he doesn’t always receive the plaudits he deserves.

Spurs are at least set to give Son a new contract to properly reward him for his performances, and he has now been hailed by Neville.

Neville suggested that Son is on par with Raheem Sterling, Sadio Mane ad Mohamed Salah, branding him an ‘amazing’ and ‘brilliant’ player.

Neville thinks that Son would be an absolute star at Liverpool or Manchester City, with Jamie Carragher adding that City or Liverpool would surely want to sign Son if Sterling or Mane move on.

“I think because Son is so understated, he doesn’t get the glitz of the top players in the league; he is absolutely an amazing player, he’s a brilliant, brilliant player,” said Neville. “It would be a nightmare to play against him, he makes all the right runs.”

“We talk about Sterling regularly, we talk about Mane and Salah at Liverpool. He is in that quality; if he was playing for Liverpool, he’d be doing what those lads are doing there, if he was playing for City, he’d be doing what those lads are doing,” he added.

“You think that if a Sterling or a Mane left those clubs, he’d be the first one that you’d think Jurgen Klopp or Pep Guardiola would go for,” said Carragher.
