Harry Kane may not have left Tottenham this summer, but that doesn’t mean that conversations about his future have stopped.
The England captain has had a very slow start to the season. He’s yet to score a goal in the Premier League, and he looks out of sorts under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Many pundits have been speculating that something isn’t right with Kane, and Darren Bent claimed earlier this week that his interview with Gary Neville was the turning point for the striker.
“We know he’s not been great, but I don’t think he’s been at his best ever since he gave that interview with Gary Neville,” Bent said on talkSPORT.
However, Neville isn’t on-board with that suggestion, and he claims that Kane is more likely to have been affected by another moment.
Indeed, the Sky pundit says that it’s more likely that everything changed for Kane when Daniel Levy backtracked on his so-called ‘gentleman’s agreement’ to allow him to leave the club.
So, who’s right?
Well, Neville makes a great point about Levy not sticking to his promise to Kane, but as Bent says, that interview on The Overlap made it clear to the wider footballing world that he was angling for a move away.
Whether it’s Levy’s broken promise or the interview with Neville that affected Kane, one thing is for sure, the striker is out of form right now.
