Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Everton’s Ross Barkley.

Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri told Sky Sports that the Toffees had agreed a £35 million deal with Chelsea over the transfer of Barkley on deadline day.
Moshiri added that at the medical on transfer deadline day, the Everton attacking midfielder’s agent informed the club that the 23-year-old had changed his mind.

Former United defender Neville has speculated that Barkley could have changed his mind over a move to Chelsea on transfer deadline day due to interest form Tottenham.
“Ross is a homebird,” The Daily Star quotes Neville as saying. “I don’t know the ins-and-outs of it at this moment in time. He might have got down there and thought ‘hang on a minute, I love Everton’.
“Or it may be another club that he wanted to go to more has told him to hang on for five months and they’ll sign him in January. Maybe Tottenham or someone else. They may have put some doubt in his mind.”

Barkley explained on social networking site Twitter earlier today why he stayed at Everton, stating that due to his current injury, he wants to wait until January to make a decision on his future.
According to The Times, Tottenham were interested in signing Barkley from Everton in the summer transfer window and will make a move for him in January, along with Chelsea.
