Gary Neville thinks that Newcastle United’s season may turn around now that Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wilson are back again, as per his comments on his self-titled podcast.
Newcastle had been looking nervously over their shoulders, after a disastrous run of recent form, but yesterday’s win over Burnley may just be enough to keep them in the Premier League for another season.
Both Saint-Maximin and Wilson came off the bench for Newcastle, as they made their comebacks from injury issues.
The French winger really proved his worth, as he scored a vital winner at Turf Moor.
And Neville has revealed that he said to Jamie Carragher on Monday that he felt Newcastle’s problems may disappear, now their two key players are coming back to fitness.
“I said on Monday I was talking in the green room with Carra and Dave Jones,” Neville revealed.
“And I said ‘is it just as simple as Saint-Maximin and Wilson coming back and it’ll be alright again?’
“Because it seemed like before they got injured, things were picking up a little bit.

“Those two coming back, I mean, clubs can’t lose strikers of that ilk in any part of the league but if you’re Newcastle now you’d feel really confident.”
Newcastle’s win over Burnley means that they have now put some distance between themselves and the drop zone.
The Magpies are currently six points ahead of Fulham, and they have a game in hand on Scott Parker’s side, meaning they now look in a strong position to stay up.
