Gary Neville thinks Antonio Conte will be ‘very proud’ of Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Tottenham boss wasn’t present in north London as Harry Kane created history by becoming the club’s all-time leading goalscorer – surpassing the great, Jimmy Greaves.

Kane’s 267th goal for Spurs was even more sweeter because it also handed his side the three points. Not only that, but he also hit goal number 200 in the Premier League.

Nonetheless, Conte was absent from the game because he is resting at home after having surgery to remove his gallbladder.

But whilst he has his feet up at home, his mind would have been going at 100 miles per hour and he would have been delighted when the final whistle was finally blown.

Nonetheless, this is what Neville feels Conte would have been thinking about today’s game, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.

“If Antonio Conte is watching, which I am sure he is, then he will be very proud of what he is seeing in these first 75 minutes,” said Neville.

TOTTENHAM BEAT MANCHESTER CITY…AGAIN!

That’s five games for Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and five defeats.

Not only do they continue to lose in north London, but they are yet to even register a goal against the club since they moved into their new stadium.

Whilst Arsenal fans will be delighted with this win because it provided them with a helping hand in their Premier League title race, it also boosts Tottenham’s chances of securing a top-four finish.

They are now one point behind fourth-placed Newcastle United, who also have a game in hand.
