Arsenal were quite simply brilliant against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.
Gary Neville spoke exclusively to Sky Sports after Arsenal’s impressive 4-2 win over Tottenham at the Emirates yesterday, and raved about the job being done by Unai Emery, suggesting that he is getting the absolute best out of his current crop of players.
The Gunners have made a fine start to life under Emery, and currently sit in fourth spot in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, and they have not lost since their 3-2 defeat to Chelsea in August – a run that stretches to 19 games in all competitions.
Arsenal fans will surely be confident in their side’s chances of finishing inside the top four this season after yesterday’s performance, but it could be argued that their squad is weaker than the rest of the so-called big six.
Neville seemed to highlight how Arsenal, on paper, are not as strong as some of their competitors.
“Emery is a fantastic coach and I think he is achieving the maximum from this group of players because I don’t fancy quite a few of them, to be honest.”
Next up for Arsenal is a trip to Manchester United on Wednesday night, and that will be another huge test of just how far they have come this season.
And Gunners fans will be praying that Emery’s players prove Neville wrong once again.
