What a massive victory for Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium.

The Lilywhites looked set to record an enormous win away to Premier League champions Manchester City and, in the process, boost their prospects of qualifying for the Champions League.

Harry Kane fired Tottenham into a 2-1 lead but, with minutes remaining, the hosts and league leaders levelled up with a Riyad Mahrez penalty.

However, Kane, who had a second goal ruled out on 73 minutes for offside, struck in the dying minutes of stoppage time to give Spurs all three points at Eastlands.

It was a remarkable performance from the 28-year-old Tottenham striker and here’s how Gary Neville reacted to his display on Twitter:

World class

It’s been an unsteady season for Kane by his own sky-high standards, considering he very nearly joined this very club last summer.

But this is a huge reminder of what a world-class footballer he is – not striker, but footballer.

There’s so much more to the England international than just goals, evident by his defence-splitting pass which led to Dejan Kulusevski opening the scoring after four minutes.

And if he carries on like this, scoring and assisting like he’s capable of doing, then Conte’s outfit have an enormous chance of finishing in this top four come May.

Consequence of the victory, Tottenham are four points behind fourth-placed Manchester United but, with two Premier League matches in hand, Spurs are very much masters of their own destiny.
