Gary Neville has praised Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on Sky Sports Premier League (10:38pm, May 13, 2021) for his performance against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The former United defender believes that Alexander-Arnold was “absolutely outstanding” for Liverpool in their 4-2 win against United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Thursday evening.
The 22-year-old England international right-back provided an assist and was a problem for the Red Devils’ back-line throughout his time on the pitch.
The England international took four shots and two were on target, played five key passes, had a pass accuracy of 66.7%, took 86 touches, made one tackle, two interceptions and three clearances, and put in five crosses, according to WhoScored.
Neville said about Alexander-Arnold on Sky Sports Premier League (10:38pm, May 13, 2021): “Fully agree with that. He has been absolutely outstanding. Even in periods of the game where Liverpool haven’t been on top of his game, he was still dangerous, he was still putting crosses in.”

Alexander-Arnold has not had the best of seasons, but the right-back has been brilliant in recent weeks.
The right-back was snubbed by England head coach Gareth Southgate for the last three Lions’ squad.
Since then, the 22-year-old has been on fire and is showing why he deserves a place in the England squad for the European Championship this summer.
The youngster has made 31 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Liverpool this season, scoring two goals and providing six assists in the process.
