Gary Neville has claimed that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ‘out of this world’, as he told Sky Sports.

The former right-back suggested that both Klopp and Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, are performing at ‘such a high level’.

During the past five or so years, both Klopp and Guardiola have dominated English football and they have had some almighty title tussles at the top of the table.

At the halfway stage of this current season, it’s Guardiola who is sitting top of the Premier League tree.

And whilst Neville lauded what Klopp has done at Liverpool, he gave the coaching performance of the season so far to the man at the Etihad.

“Him and Jurgen Klopp are out of this world, in terms of managers,”‘ said Neville. “They are both at such a high level.

“Liverpool could win the league. But the reason why I haven’t gone for them to win the league is just that they are more finely-tuned than Liverpool.

“If they lost Salah. Or if they lost Van Dijk, then the drop would be quite big. If Liverpool kept all their players fit, then Klopp could be Coach of the Year at the end of the year.

“But Pep Guardiola, at this point, just for what he has done, so far, takes it.”

Liverpool’s defeat to Leicester at the King Power last night hasn’t helped matters and this week could be crucial in the title race.

Both Manchester City and Chelsea are in action on Wednesday, as well as Thomas Tuchel’s men hosting the Reds on Sunday.

All in all, it could see Klopp’s men fall 12 points behind Man City, even though they would have played a game less.

But, equally, it would be quite the statement from the Merseyside club if they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge at the weekend and sent out the message that they aren’t going anywhere, anytime soon.
