Olivier Giroud is frustrated with his lack of Premier League starts at Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea but would he solve Everton’s goalscoring problems?

Gary Neville has pointed out that Olivier Giroud would be perfect for Everton as the summer transfer window looms on the horizon, speaking on his own podcast.
Giroud played at Goodison Park as recently as Sunday, replacing Gonzalo Higuain after the interval as his Chelsea side were beaten 2-0 during an inspired second half performance from Marco Silva’s hosts.
Richarlison scored his 13th goal of the season to open the scoring for Everton while Dominic Calvert-Lewin was a typically hard-working presence in attack.
Though Everton are still crying out for a proven and reliable goalscorer to finally replace Romelu Lukaku and Neville believes that Giroud would tick a lot of boxes.
“Definitely, (signing a striker) is the number one priority for Everton. Someone like Olivier Giroud, who has got a lot of experience, he’s a target man. He’s got a bit of subtlety as well, he’s not just someone you hit,” said the former Manchester United and England defender.

“You can play off him. And I look at Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison and they need someone they can play off. Olivier Giroud is a type that they would love.”
Giroud has struggled for Premier League starts since he joined Chelsea from Arsenal in January 2018, costing £18 million according to the BBC.
Speaking after a fantastic Europa League hat-trick away at Dinamo Kiev on Thursday, the 32-year-old claimed that he has no interest in sitting on the bench as he enters the final years of his career, as reported by talkSPORT.
Something for Everton to consider then.
