Arsenal got the better of Manchester United yesterday, recording an impressive 2-0 victory at The Emirates.

The game was hardly a classic and United rarely threatened, but Arsenal should be proud of the way they stuck to their tasks.

Former United defender Gary Neville praised midfielder Aaron Ramsey for his performance in the victory, explaining that he really felt he had stepped up his game.

Speaking on the Gary Neville podcast, the pundit said: “It’s the best I’ve seen Ramsey play in a long time.

“His runs were fantastic in the first half. It’s why I gave him man of the match.”

The Welshman has generally struggled to repeat his terrific form of 2013/14 which saw him score goals regularly from central midfield.

This season he has not netted a single Premier League goal in 19 appearances, although came close against United yesterday.

Goals bring confidence and Ramsey netting just once would help him out. Even without finding the net, his display against the Red Devils was a positive sign, and the midfielder may be able to start dreaming of scoring another FA Cup final winning goal once more.
