Gary Neville has ruined Harry Redknapp after the former Tottenham Hotspur manager criticised the Sky Sports pundit for labelling Spurs as “spineless, soft and pathetic.”

Neville lambasted Spurs on Sky Sports’ coverage of Tottenham’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Monday, before Redknapp hit back in an interview with TalkSport.

Redknapp urged Neville “to do his homework” and described his comments as an “absolute disgrace”, with Neville delivering a damning verdict of Spurs’ search for trophies.

But Neville returned with the help of an Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, telling Redknapp he has done his homework by comparing his time at Valencia to Redknapp’s spells in charge of Birmingham City and QPR.

Since Mauricio Pochettino took over in 2014 after leaving Southampton, Spurs have failed to win a trophy. They qualified for the last eight of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, but their Champions League hopes remain dire.

Spurs last won a trophy in 2008, beating Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley to win the League Cup thanks to goals from Dimitar Berbatov and Jonathan Woodgate – cancelling out Didier Drogba’s opener.
