Gary Neville has reminded Tottenham Hotspur fans on Sky Sports that he did not want their head coach Antonio Conte to take charge of Manchester United.

The former Manchester United defender made the comments while noting how some Tottenham fans have been calling for Conte to leave in recent days.

The show was recorded on Monday January 2 and published on Youtube on Friday January 6.

Tottenham went down to Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on New Year’s Day.

It was one of the worst performances from Spurs under Conte so far this season.

Tottenham, though, bounced back with a 4-0 hammering of London rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the league on Wednesday evening.

Sky Sports pundit Neville believes that he was right to say several months ago that although Conte is a very good manager, his style of football is not right for United.

In October 2021, Neville explained why he did not want former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss to become the new United boss.

The Red Devils appointed Erik ten Hag as their manager in the summer of 2022.

Neville said: “This morning they are all calling for Conte, saying he could be sacked. I was being battered a year ago for saying that he shouldn’t manage my club. It always comes around sometimes, you just have to wait. You just have to wait. Don’t go early.”
