Marco Silva was sacked by Watford on Sunday after a run of one win in 11 Premier League matches.

Leading football pundit Gary Neville has called for a rule change over managerial sackings after Watford announced the departure of Marco Silva on Sunday.
The Portuguese, appointed last May, was fired following a run of one win in 11 Premier League matches, although the Hornets were still in the top half of the table.
Silva became the eighth top-flight manager to lose his job in the 2017-18 campaign, and Manchester United legend Neville believes that measures need to be taken to reduce mid-season sackings.
In a club statement, Watford blamed an approach from Everton for Silva in November for distracting the 40-year-old and resulting in the club’s severe dip in form.
According to The Independent, Watford turned down a £10m compensation package for the former Hull City boss before Everton settled for second choice Sam Allardyce.

Sky Sports understands that former Malaga and Rubin Kazan manager Javi Gracia will be named Silva’s successor in the next 24 hours, with Southampton away in the FA Cup fourth round his first game in charge.
