Gary Neville has hit out at the circumstances which led to Rachel Riley quitting her role as SkySports TV presenter.
Riley presented Sky’s Friday Night Football coverage last season with Jeff Stelling, with six matches broadcast.
The penultimate one was West Ham’s 1-0 win over Tottenham, which effectively handed the Premier League title to Chelsea.
Riley angered Tottenham fans by labelling their performance a ‘proper bottle job’.

The Times report Tottenham officials complained to Sky, and Riley did not present the following week after suffering personal abuse relating in response.
It is reported now she has decided not to carry on presenting the coverage, despite being offered a 12-month extension by Sky.
Sky analyst Gary Neville made his feelings clear, taking to Twitter to describe the events as ‘scandalous’.
It is unclear as yet who will replace Riley in the role.
