The Tottenham Hotspur chairman has a reputation as one of the hardest negotiators around.
Gary Neville absolutely raved about Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, when speaking on Sky Sports’ Premier League season preview debate, suggesting that he is the best in the business.
The Spurs supremo has received plenty of criticism for the club’s fans over the past few years, especially after no new signings were made for two consecutive transfer windows from the summer of 2018.
Everything changed this year, however. Mauricio Pochettino signed Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon and Jack Clarke, before loaning the winger back to Leeds.
And many are tipping Tottenham to achieve success on all fronts this season.
Levy deserves great credit for backing Pochettino to the hilt this summer, and Neville suggested that he is the best in his specific field, when speaking on Sky Sports’ Premier League season preview debate:
“I believe they have got the best operator in football in Levy. You might not agree. [He’s the best] in the Premier League. Absolutely the best for me. He gets some things wrong, of course he does. But he doesn’t get messed around, he stands his ground, stands up to managers.”
Whilst closing the gap on Manchester City and Liverpool will be far from easy, Tottenham appear to have all of the ingredients needed to succeed this season.
They kick their season off at 17:30 today with a home game against Aston Villa, and Pochettino will be desperate for his side to hit the ground running.
