Gary Neville has questioned whether Alexis Mac Allister is really the only signing Liverpool need this summer.
The Reds beat Brentford 1-0 on Saturday evening as Mohamed Salah added another goal to his tally.
Liverpool have now won six games in a row, their best run of the season so far.
The gap to fourth-placed Manchester United is just one point, although the Red Devils do have two games in hand.
Liverpool suddenly have real hope of sneaking into the Champions League despite a fairly disappointing season.
This run at the end of the campaign is not only boosting Liverpool’s European hopes, but may just help with summer signings too.
Liverpool need midfield additions this summer and it looks like Brighton and Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister is a top target.

Gary Neville questions Alexis Mac Allister move
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a superb season for Brighton and even won the World Cup with Argentina.
Fabrizio Romano reported last week that Liverpool’s move for Mac Allister was progressing well after talks with his representatives.
Argentinian reporter Cesar Luis Merlo also claimed last week that Liverpool have offered a five-year deal to Mac Allister.
This won’t be a cheap deal; 90Min reported in April that Brighton want around £70million for Mac Allister whilst there have been suggestions that a deal could reach £80million.
That would be a staggering price to pay for Mac Allister and Gary Neville isn’t so sure.
Neville has taken to Twitter to question whether Mac Allister is enough to take Liverpool back into the Champions League places, especially at £80million.
Neville feels that Liverpool need more than one or two signings and seemingly feels that splashing so much on Mac Allister is questionable.
Jamie Carragher couldn’t resist a response, taking to Twitter to call Neville ‘obsessed’ with Liverpool.
Neville will always want to comment on the Reds but this didn’t seem like a wind-up – Neville seems genuinely unsure about Liverpool spending so much on Mac Allister.
