Liverpool have gotten off to a fantastic start in the Premier League this season.
Yes, this weekend’s result against Brentford wasn’t ideal, but after Brighton failed to win on Monday, the Reds are still top of the league.
The Merseyside club were league champions back in 2019/20, and their strong start this season has given them a great chance when it comes to reclaiming their crown this term.
However, as always, Gary Neville has given a rather more pessimistic view on Liverpool’s chances this term, and he thinks that they won’t be challenging at the very top.
Indeed, during a Twitter Q&A Neville claimed that he thinks Liverpool will finish outside of the top two.
Neville says that Liverpool will finish third or fourth, but based on recent form it’s hard to see that happening.
Of course, it’s early days so we can’t judge the Reds accurately quite yet, but based on what we’ve seen so far, they look back to their very best.
When Liverpool are on form, they’re the best team in the world. This squad won a Champions League and won the Premier League title at a canter, so why can’t they challenge at the very top once again.
Time will tell whether or not Gary Neville’s view is on the money.
