Gary Neville has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:54pm, May 10, 2021) that reported Tottenham Hotspur managerial target Scott Parker will not leave Fulham.

The Daily Mail reported last month that Fulham boss Parker is one of the managers Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly looking at.

Jose Mourinho was sacked as the Tottenham head coach last month, with Ryan Mason placed in charge of the team until the end of the season.

Fulham have been relegated from the Premier League, and while many will think that Parker will leave, former Manchester United defender Neville believes that the 40-year-old Englishman will stay at Craven Cottage.

Neville said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:54pm, May 10, 2021): “I think Fulham will stick with him next season, I think obviously having come up from the Championship before.”

The Englishman added: “I think he will get other opportunities (in the future). I think he will stay at Fulham.”

Parker has been in charge of Fulham since 2019 and guided the Cottagers from the Championship at the end of last season.

Fulham will probably want the 40-year-old to stay in charge of the club and bring them back up again.

However, the chance to manage Spurs could be tempting for the former England international midfielder.

Parker played for Tottenham, and the chance to manage an ambitious club and work with players such as Harry Kane and Son Heung-min could appeal to him.

However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy needs to be aware that if he appoints Parker, he simply has to give him time and funds and cannot expect him to make the North London title-challengers straightaway.
