Gary Neville believes Liverpool and Tottenham will miss out on finishing in the top four, with Manchester City getting back on track.
Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville is confident his pre-season prediction for the top four will prove to be correct.
Quizzed over how he sees the season playing itself out, Neville believes Manchester City will still finish inside the top two despite slipping to fourth.
He was responding to a fan on Twitter who had asked him to call how the standings will look at the end of the season.
While Neville may have simply been sticking with his original prediction to retain his consistency, in posting his reply, he had the opportunity to change his mind.
His answer may leave both fans of Arsenal and Manchester United feeling undwhelmed. The Gunners are currently in second and Manchester United in third, and both are competing to finish inside the top two, with Chelsea seemingly running away with the title.
There are still big games to be played however, and consecutive losses for either side could yet allow Liverpool back into the race despite their own back to back defeats, and finishing inside the Champions League qualifying places has ultimately a bigger reward than second spot alone does.
