Gary Neville has said on his podcast that Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jack Grealish has proved his doubters wrong.
The former Manchester United defender has said that 18 months ago, there were doubts whether Grealish, who can also operate as a winger, would be able to play consistently well.
Neville, who works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that the 25-year-old is now a “proper player”, and that he has proved his doubters wrong.
The Englishman said on his podcast: “Grealish is a proper player. There was that doubt maybe 18 months ago where you thought he is someone who is just a maverick that will dip in and out, but now I think he will be a big influence, not just for Villa, but obviously for England as well.”
Big player for Aston Villa
Grealish has been superb for Villa since the club returned to the Premier League and is now one of the better attacking players in the top flight of English football.

According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old has scored six goals and provided 10 assists in 21 Premier League matches for Villa so far this season.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the England international scored eight goals and provided six assists in 36 league games for the Villans, according to WhoScored.
Villa are challenging for the European places in the Premier League table this season, and for Dean Smith’s side to be successful in their quest, Grealish has to be on top of his game.
