Gary Neville labelled Mateusz Klich as Leeds United’s ‘best player’ during their 4-2 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.

It was a blood and thunder affair at Elland Road, with Leeds’ defensive fragilities showcasing themselves once again.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side didn’t help matters by handing their rivals with a 2-0 lead inside the first half.

And even though they pulled two goals back during the second period in next to no time, it still wasn’t enough because Man United went on to score two more goals.

During his commentary stint for Sky, Neville liked what he was seeing from Klich in the middle of the park of yesterday’s all-action affair.

“He has been Leeds United’s best player, Klich,” said Neville about the 31-year-old. “He has been good for Leeds.

“McTominay lets the runner go off him. But it’s the angle that is against the Leeds United midfield player. He drags it in the end.”

It’s not going to get any easier for Leeds because it’s only the small matter of the Yorkshire outfit having to travel to Anfield.

Liverpool will have the tail between their legs because Manchester City’s defeat to Tottenham has opened up the race for the Premier League title.

For a number of weeks now, many felt that Pep Guardiola’s side were going to walk away with another title.

But if the Reds can win their game in hand against Leeds, then they close the gap at the top to three points.

On one hand, it might just be one of those very tough evenings for Leeds, but on the other, the situation of the game might just suit them.
