Gary Neville believes Tottenham’s centre-backs have the best PL partnership, better than the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has told fans on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur currently boast the best centre-back pairing in the Premier League.
In terms of goals conceded, Spurs are currently third best in the Premier League with 24 flying in the opposite end, four behind both Manchester clubs who have both conceded 20 goals.
Spurs are currently without two of their centre-backs following Jan Vertonghen’s ankle injury that he suffered in training prior to Sunday’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. Toby Alderweireld remains sidelined after a setback in his hamstring recovery.
They still boast the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier and Juan Foyth, and former Manchester United defender Neville believes Mauricio Pochettino’s side possess the best centre-back pairing in England’s top flight – without stating who that is.
Pochettino has reverted to a four-man defence this season after using three in defence for much of last season, with Vertonghen and Sanchez combining well of late following Alderweireld’s muscle injury against Real Madrid.
The north Londoners next face League One side Rochdale on Wednesday night in which Pochettino is expected to make a number of changes to his side, with Foyth likely to partner either Dier or Sanchez.
