Former Manchester United defender and club legend, Gary Neville, has picked Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino, as the manager of the season.
Neville said to Sky Sports that he loves Tottenham, and that Spurs are probably his favourite team to watch.
He has ushered heaps of praise on Pochettino, saying the Argentine has been doing an ‘amazing’ job and has assembled a top squad on a budget no where near the other big clubs.
“I love Tottenham, they’re probably my favourite team in the league to watch,” said Neville to Sky Sports.
“Pochettino has built a team, brought players through and the budget is nowhere near the other clubs. For me he’s doing an amazing job.”
Pochettino or Conte: Manager of the season?
The other Sky Sports pundits – Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, Alan Smith, and Niall Quinn – have all picked Antonio Conte as the manager of the season.
The Italian has done a brilliant job with Chelsea, and he is on course to win the Premier League title in his first season at charge.
After a stuttering start to the season, Conte changed his system to 3-4-3 that worked wonders for the team.
Pochettino’s side, on the other hand, gradually grew in confidence as the season progressed. Despite missing some of his key players from time to time, Tottenham’s young guns have displayed some mesmerising performances over the season.
Be it snatching a late victory against Swansea City, a tactical masterclass in the 2-0 win over Chelsea, or demolition jobs against the likes of Watford, Stoke City, Millwall, and West Brom – Spurs have been a joy to watch, and all credit goes to the manager who is building something special at the north London club.
