Gary Neville has picked Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Liverpool’s Virgil Van Dijk among his top five players in the Premier League.

Neville took part in a question and answer session on social media website Twitter yesterday, when he was asked to name the five best players in England’s top flight.

And Neville found room for Tottenham’s Kane and Liverpool’s Salah, alongside David De Gea, Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard.

The most noticeable absentee from Neville’s list may be that of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

Salah ended last season as the Premier League’s top scorer, but he has slowed somewhat this time around.

Kane has also not scored with as much frequency as expected this term, but he still has seven goals in 13 games for Mauricio Pochettino’s side across all competitions.

Van Dijk, meanwhile, has helped Liverpool tighten up significantly since he arrived at Anfield back in January.
