Liverpool have been told to snap up Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo with Gary Neville keen to see a deal happen.
Gary Neville has urged FSG to dig deep and bring Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo to Liverpool this summer.
Liverpool’s need for a new holding midfielder is bordering on desperate at this point.
The Reds allowed James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to leave this summer at the end of their contracts.
Arthur Melo’s loan spell ended rather quietly and Liverpool pounced to bring in both Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Liverpool still wanted another defensive midfielder but seemed fairly comfortable just a few weeks ago.
That situation has changed though as both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have moved on, completing moves to Saudi Arabia.
Liverpool no longer have a defensive midfield option and it looks like they will head into the new Premier League season in a real quandary.
Liverpool’s pursuit of Romeo Lavia hasn’t yielded any results as yet and Gary Neville thinks the Reds should move on.

Gary Neville backs Liverpool move for Moises Caicedo
Former Manchester United defender Neville has been speaking on The Overlap ahead of the new Premier League season.
Neville believes that the Fenway Sports Group must now go and splash cash on a midfielder – and not necessarily Lavia.
Neville feels that Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo is the man for Liverpool this summer.
Caicedo continues to be heavily linked with a move to Chelsea but could cost a similar fee to Declan Rice – around £100million.

Neville believes that Liverpool should be focusing on a top player like Caicedo over a player with potential like Lavia.
Jurgen Klopp needs ‘the real deal’ in midfield if Liverpool are to challenge Manchester City again, with Neville calling on FSG to pay up before the Reds fall further behind.
“They should just be going and getting Caicedo now for him and saying ‘there you go, that’s dealt with and sorted, it’s £100m’, but they’re not, they’re trying to pinch somebody off Southampton for £40million.”
“He’s a good player, don’t get me wrong, but Jurgen Klopp needs the real deal – they can’t do it [challenge Manchester City] with a player that’s got potential, they need to do it with a player that’s real,” he added.
