Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane has received praise from Gary Neville earlier today.

Gary Neville has identified an unsung part of Harry Kane’s game in the Daily Mail.

Kane is most noted for his goalscoring ability, but Neville said that he spotted his defensive qualities when Tottenham Hotspur took on Everton in November.

The 21-year-old striker played a part in both Tottenham’s goals as Mauricio Pochettino’s side ran out 2-1 winners, but it was his tireless effort which made him standout for Neville.

“I watched the game pre-Christmas against Everton and it transformed my appreciation of him,” he said. “I saw he could go and attack defenders and run at them, he could go up with strong defenders and win balls, he could go back as a number 10 and be diligent defensively, win the ball back off people and counter-attack.”

Kane’s performance was indeed a complete one and his stats throughout the season have shown just how hard he works.

The White Hart Lane fans’ favourite is way ahead of his competitors for a striking place in a range of areas.

Kane makes more tackles, more interceptions and wins more defensive duels than Roberto Soldado or Emmanuel Adebayor and that is another reason why he is in the team ahead of them.

Mauricio Pochettino demands that his sides defend from the front, and Kane seems to have bought into this ethos.

The academy graduate has scored 24 goals already this campaign and he looks set to add to that total considerably by the end of the term.

Kane’s brilliant form has thrust him into England contention and it appears that Neville, who is a coach for the Three Lions, will certainly be hoping he receives his first call-up soon.
