Gary Neville has told his self-titled podcast that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry’s Kane return will improve Jose Mourinho’s side’s results.
Tottenham have come off the rails in recent weeks, with their performances without Kane hugely concerning.
Spurs lost three Premier League games in a row for the first time since Andre Villas-Boas’s days in charge and rapidly sunk down the table.
However, Kane was back at the weekend – and Tottenham finally returned to winning ways with a win over West Bromwich Albion.
Spurs’s performance in the contest was actually highly encouraging, as they picked up an important three points.
And Neville feels that Tottenham will see an up-turn in results now that Kane is back fit.
“If Harry Kane doesn’t play at Tottenham they’re nothing like the team,” Neville said.
“If you remember about two months ago we were talking about Tottenham being potential title challengers and at the time I didn’t think that was going to be the case. But I actually thought they were starting to play some really good football.
“I thought the connection between the front players was good. I thought Sissoko and Hojbjerg and midfield were starting to build a relationship. The back four was settling down, Aurier was producing his best football and Dier was cementing himself at centre-back, but they are in a messy patch whereby it looks like they have gone back a bit towards the lack of co-ordination and not really connected as a team, like they did in the early days when you thought what’s going on here.

“But that could be because Kane has not been there, he has such a big influence in that dressing room and in that club and with him being back results will improve.”
If Tottenham can improve results then their hopes of making it into the top four are not yet over.
Spurs may have been well short of their best in recent weeks, but other Champions League chasing clubs also haven’t found regular wins easy to come by.
Tottenham’s fixture list isn’t particularly kind as they look to find form again, though.
Spurs have a tough run of games coming up, starting with a clash with Everton in the FA Cup on Wednesday.
