Tottenham Hotspur are going strong in the Premier League at the moment.
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has made an observation about Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy on Sky Sports.
The former United defender has observed that Tottenham chairman is not making the headlines at the moment, head coach Mauricio Pochettino is.
Neville made the comments following Spurs’ 2-0 victory over Manchester City at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The performance of the North London outfit against Pep Guardiola’s side was superb and proved that Tottenham are genuine Premier League title contenders this season.
“I thought today it was a typical Pochettino team,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“When you think of the mob he picked up here when came to Spurs with the likes of Adebayor, Kaboul and Capoue and Paulinho – I’m not having a go at them individually – and you look and think there’s no way they could play at the level Pochettino would have wanted them to given the demands that he has now.
“Inside two years the transformation is a brilliant coaching and recruitment job. We’re hearing less about Daniel Levy and more about the coach which I think is the right thing for Tottenham.”
Levy is a shrewd businessman and he seems to have a lot of faith in Pochettino.
In previous years, the Tottenham chairman has sacked managers when things have gone wrong and has made some questionable transfer decisions.
However, it seems that Spurs now have got stability that they have lacked in previous years, and it is clear that the club are on the up.
Having finished in the top four of the Premier League last season, Tottenham will be aiming to win the title this campaign.
Spurs are second in the league table at the moment with 17 points from seven matches, just a point behind leaders City.
