Liverpool’s Fabinho is going from strength to strength.

Gary Neville has admitted to Sky Sports that Fabinho’s performance for Liverpool against Manchester United last week made him realise that he’s a ‘top player’.
Xherdan Shaqiri stole the headlines at Anfield after scoring twice in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over the old enemy in what turned out to be Jose Mourinho’s last game as Red Devils boss.
But fans of the Merseyside club were raving about Fabinho nonetheless.
The Brazilian midfielder was simply outstanding, posting easily his finest performance since joining Jurgen Klopp’s side last summer.
It was a slow start to life at Liverpool for the 25-year-old, who didn’t make his full Premier League debut until October.
Fabinho was quietly impressive in the Reds’ 2-0 win at Wolves again on Friday night, and Neville admits that the powerhouse is better than he originally thought.
“Last week was the first time I saw him put in a performance where I thought ‘this looks like a top player’,” he told Sky Sports.
“Obviously we know he’s top player but you just think is he going to settle into this Liverpool team?
“It looked like a slow start but now it looks he’s delivering what Jurgen Klopp wanted him to.”
Fabinho is indeed a very fine talent and one that will surely only get better and better as time goes on.
He wasn’t quite as good against Wolves last night, in comparison to his display against United, but he was solid nonetheless and if this is the new standard, it’ll be very hard for Georginio Wijlnaldum or anybody else to get a look-in.
