Gary Neville was left annoyed during Sky Sports live coverage of Everton’s defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday night.
Straight after Edinson Cavani scored for Man United, Neville stated it ‘really annoyed’ him that Everton ‘all of a sudden’ started to pile men forward into the penalty area, when at 0-0, they were performing in a ‘passive’ manner.
In the end, it was the away side who walked away with a 2-0 win, with Anthony Martial making sure of his side’s progression in stoppage-time, as the Toffees failed to play with any rhythm or purpose.
This was a great opportunity for Carlo Ancelotti to try and lift some silverware with the Merseyside giants, but they struggled to get on the ball and play with intent in front of 2000 fans at Goodison Park.
“It really annoys me when you see a team at 0-0 really passive,” said Neville. “Then all of a sudden, they go a goal down with two minutes to go in a cup tie and they got six players in the box.”

Even with the crowd present, Everton will be annoyed themselves that they didn’t use them to the best of their ability.
Richarlison going off in the second off didn’t help matters because he does provide that X-Factor for the Toffees during difficult situations.
As Everton try to get over their League Cup heartache from last night, they will be hoping to push in the same manner when the FA Cup kicks off next month.
