Gary Neville has stated on Instagram live ‘I hope so’ when he was reacting to claims that Leeds United are ‘in trouble’.
Leeds are hovering above the relegation zone eight games into the season, with only three winless sides in Burnley, Newcastle and Norwich below them in the Premier League table.
Before the international break, the Whites picked up a deserved and much-needed three points against Watford.
But it seems as though the two-week break went against them because, not only did they lose momentum, but key players being absent for their defeat to Southampton on Saturday.
Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford were injured for the showdown in the South Coast, whilst Raphinha travelled to St Mary’s, after returning from South America less than 48 hours before the Southampton game.
But he wasn’t included in the matchday squad and it was pretty evident, with Leeds only producing three shots at goal, that they missed his fearless nature on the ball.
But this is what Neville had to say on Instagram live on Sunday.
“Leeds are in trouble,” Neville reads out a comment from one of his followers. “I hope so,” he responds.

What will perhaps worry Leeds fans the most is the lack of attacking threat against a Southampton side that hadn’t won a game this season.
Even if Marcelo Bielsa’s side are leaking goals for fun or struggling to keep clean sheets, one thing that is always on the table is their ability to continually create numerous chances.
But it has to be remembered that they were missing three of their best players over the weekend.
And in truth, even Liverpool, who are unbeaten this season, would find life difficult if the likes of Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Fabinho were taken out of their XI.
