Gary Neville has told has self-titled podcast that offside decision given against Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford should lead to a change in rules.
Bamford had a goal chalked off for Leeds against Crystal Palace, simply for signalling where he wanted a pass to be given to him.
Bamford was pointing in front of him, and the new rules suggest that the offside line should now be drawn from the top of the shirt sleeve.
The Leeds forward was clearly positioned behind the Palace defence, but because his arm was outstretched he was deemed as offside.
And Neville thinks that the law needs to be looked at, as the ruling just makes no sense any more.
“I think we’ve actually got something pretty good. Because the nonsense of the early days of VAR when they were all over the place with the decision making has gone,” he said.
“But it’s actually a couple of rule changes – like the Bamford handball where they are drawing the line down the arm, we don’t want to see it. Let’s get rid of it because the game doesn’t want to see it.”

The decision to rule out Bamford’s goal worked against Leeds, as they ultimately fell to a heavy defeat at Selhurst Park.
Bamford actually did get on the scoresheet, but Leeds ultimately lost 4-1 to Palace.
Leeds have now suffered heavy defeats in their last two outings, which has caused them to slip down into 15th place in the Premier League table.
The Whites are next in action after the international break, when they take on Arsenal.
