Liverpool answered questions over their ‘dodgy defence’ last night as they nullified Everton’s attack at Goodison Park.
They kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over the Toffees, and their performance was so good that former Manchester United captain Gary Neville even praised one of their players.

Neville, who drew the ire of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp for his criticism of Loris Karius earlier this month, hailed centre-back Dejan Lovren.
He told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football: “He was absolutely outstanding.
“The way he defended, and won aerial battles, he was the outstanding defender no doubt.”
Lovren has transformed himself under Jurgen Klopp, having become a joke figure under Brendan Rodgers, with the German rescuing his Liverpool career.

Against Everton, Lovren won six aerial duels and made 11 clearances in total, more than any Liverpool defender.
He blocked one shot and made two interceptions, also winning one tackle, and ensured that Ragnar Klavan stayed up to speed alongside him.
Lovren and Klavan have now kept two consecutive clean sheets, with Simon Mignolet behind them, and manager Jurgen Klopp will not feel a need to shuffle his defence for the visit of Stoke on December 27.
