Gary Neville has criticised Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus for going down to the ground too easily in the final minutes of the Premier League game against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Friday evening.
The former Manchester United defender said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:50pm, April 21, 2023) that Jesus went to the ground easily inside the Southampton penalty area late in the game.
The Premier League match between Arsenal and Southampton in North London ended in a 3-3 draw.
Jesus went down inside the Saints’ penalty area late in the game.
No penalty was given.
And Neville believes that it was the right decision.
The Englishman was on co-commentary duty for the Premier League match between Arsenal and Southampton on Sky Sports.
Gary Neville on Gabriel Jesus during Arsenal vs Southampton
Neville said about Jesus: “We were listening to the VAR, we were watching the screens. It wasn’t for me. It was quite theatrical from Jesus. There is obviously a challenge, but he just throws himself.”

HITC Verdict: Disappointing performance
In our view, Gabriel Jesus did not have a good game for Arsenal against Southampton.
The Brazil international striker had two or three very good chances, but the former Manchester City star lacked composure.
While Jesus did cause problems for the Southampton defenders with his movement and running, he should have done better with his shooting and decision-making.
