Gary Neville has criticised Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero for the first goal that Spurs conceded against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The former Manchester United defender was not impressed by the role that Romero played in Newcastle’s opening goal against Tottenham.
Newcastle took the lead against Spurs after just two minutes.
Jacob Murphy scored the goal.
Tottenham lost the ball in midfield and Joelinton strolled into the box. before shooting.
Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris spilts the ball into the path of Murphy, who scoops the ball in from close range.
Sky Sports pundit Neville was not impressed with the £165,000-a-week (Spotrac) Romero, as you can see from his tweet below.
Gary Neville on Cristian Romero for Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United

Disappointing
Tottenham Hotspur were really poor against Newcastle United and produced one of their worst performances in recent years.
Spurs were really bad defensively.
It will be interesting to see how Spurs bounce back.
Despite the result against Newcastle, Tottenham are still in the hunt for a top-four finish in the Premier League table this season.
Spurs will have to move on from the loss against Newcastle.
They simply have to.
