Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has explained why he believes Liverpool are not capable of challenging for the Premier League title.
Liverpool are on a high in the Champions League, on the brink of reaching the semi-finals after winning their last eight first leg 3-0 against Manchester City.
Commenting on Twitter, Neville says Liverpool should not get carried away into believing they can challenge for the league title next season.
Liverpool are already well out of the title picture this season, with Manchester City just one win away from clinching the trophy.
The Reds are 18 points behind City, and Neville has a point if Liverpool keep their current squad, but what he does not take into account is how they might strengthen, with Naby Keita already one player confirmed to join.
Neville also took his stance a step further, suggesting Liverpool need to try and keep their best players before they can get too ambitious.
In recent seasons they have lost Luis Suarez and Coutinho, and speculation is building over the future of Mohamed Salah.
