Gary Neville has shared his admiration for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus – and sees elements of Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez in his game.

Arsenal headed away to Anfield on Saturday, taking on Liverpool in a huge game ahead of Christmas.

Mikel Arteta saw his side take the lead early on as Gabriel Magalhaes headed past Brazilian international teammate Alisson

Arsenal were pegged back though with Mohamed Salah firing beyond David Raya, earning Liverpool a 1-1 draw.

There were chances for both teams but neither could find the crucial second goal, taking home a point apiece instead.

There may now be even more calls for Arsenal to sign another striker having failed to find the big goal at Anfield.

The Gunners didn’t have the killer instinct in the box and that means more questions about Gabriel Jesus.

Jesus is so good at many aspects of the game from pressing to link-up play and creativity, but he maybe lacks the clinical streak in front of goal.

Gary Neville highlighted that on the Gary Neville Podcast on Saturday evening, suggesting that Jesus is actually ‘everywhere you don’t want him’ because he floats around and often isn’t in the box for big chances.

Neville did though state that he absolutely loves Jesus and thinks he is a simply ‘brilliant player’, suggesting there are elements of Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez in his game.

Neville thinks that Jesus has got ‘a bit of everything’ except that real killer instinct in front of goal – and Neville wonders if Arsenal will need another striker.

“I actually love Jesus, I really love him, honestly,” said Neville. “I think he’s a brilliant player. I’d love to play with him; he’s got a bit of Rooney in him, he’s got a bit of Tevez in him, he’s got a bit of everything, but he hasn’t got that instinct in front of goal and sometimes he’s everywhere you don’t want him,” he added.

The real quirk with Jesus is the difference between his Premier League and Champions League statistics.

Across 13 games and 827 minutes of Premier League action this season, Jesus has scored just three goals.

Yet in five games and just 323 minutes in the Champions League this season, the former Manchester City man has bagged four goals.

Arsenal need to see more Premier League goals from Jesus and we know he has that in his locker, but Arteta has plenty to think about ahead of the January window.
