Gary Neville has written off West Ham’s chances of making it into the top four after they were beaten by Manchester United yesterday, as per his comments on his self-titled podcast.
West Ham went down 1-0 at Old Trafford last night, in a game where they rarely threatened.
David Moyes set his side up fairly defensively, with keeping a clean-sheet seemingly the priority for West Ham.
However, when Craig Dawson scored an own-goal they were unable to hold on to their point.
And Neville thinks that the loss could be damaging in West Ham’s hunt for a top four place.
“They’re not going to finish in the Champions League now, I don’t think,” Neville said.

“That was probably their last chance tonight. They have two or three tough fixtures coming up.
“Brilliant season, and I’ve loved watching West Ham. They’re a real good team, they have players who would grace a lot of top six teams actually, I think they have really talented players.”
Despite Neville’s pessimistic outlook, West Ham do still have reason to be positive.
Results went in their favour this weekend, which means that the damage of the defeat may not be too severe.
West Ham still are only three points behind fourth placed Chelsea, and they have a game in hand over Thomas Tuchel’s side.
West Ham’s toughest remaining games, on paper, are set to come against Leicester City and Chelsea in the coming weeks, and the results in those contests could define whether they are able to claim a Champions League spot.
