Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has under a year remaining on his contract at White Hart Lane.

Alderweireld has under one year remaining on his contract at Tottenham, but he has started in both of Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s matches so far.
Rather surprisingly no club decided to activate Alderweireld’s £25 million release clause earlier this summer.
And Neville has now questioned whether Alderweireld can even do better than Tottenham, if he does leave.
He said: “I’m getting to the point with Alderweireld, in particular. That if someone makes a decent bid for him, I’m sure Tottenham would let him go, with just a year left on his contract.
“But you start to ask the question, where would he go that would be better for him than Tottenham Hotspur?”

Whether Spurs will be able to agree a contract with Alderweireld remains to be seen.
If the Belgian was to stick around it would be a major boost for Pochettino’s men though.
Alderweireld remains one of the finest defenders in the Premier League, and he is still a hugely important member of Tottenham’s squad.
The experienced centre-back’s solid display helped Tottenham to a 2-2 draw against Manchester City yesterday.
