Gary Neville told Sky Sports on Super Sunday that Sergio Reguilon ‘lost’ his concentration and composure after just 25 minutes of Tottenham’s League Cup final defeat against Manchester City.
Not many Tottenham players covered themselves in glory yesterday, as Ryan Mason’s side failed to lay a glove on Pep Guardiola’s utterly dominant team.
Reguilon had his work cut out on Manchester City’s right-hand side and within 25 minutes he was booked by referee Paul Tierney.
What summed up Reguilon’s time on the pitch was when he somehow allowed the ball to go out for a throw-in even though there was no pressure around him when he was passed the ball on the left flank.
“What is he doing?” questioned Neville. “What is Reguilon doing? That’s a loss of concentration.
“He hasn’t had a good start to the game, Reguilon, he really hasn’t. He has lost his composure and concentration.
“Manchester City are all over them like a rash. Spurs are trying to play out from the back but they are having problems because Man City are at their best.”
With Jose Mourinho now out of the door, the real problems at Tottenham will now be scrutinised and put to the forefront.
Daniel Levy is perhaps the biggest problem, and with the recently failed European Super League taking the headlines, it will only highlight the Spurs chairman even further.
