Gary Neville has told Monday Night Football, which was broadcast by Sky Sports, that he doesn’t think that Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi or Takumi Minamino are good enough for Liverpool.
Shaqiri and Origi both actually featured for Liverpool in their last game against Manchester United, but neither were able to really step up.
With Liverpool struggling for goals, Jurgen Klopp has generally been fairly reluctant to use the aforementioned trio.
And Neville thinks Liverpool’s problem in attack is that they have a lack of cover for key players.
“To me I feel like it’s under control at Liverpool. They’ve played non-stop for three years and the fourth year is always the burn out year,” he said.
“For three years they’ve been unbelievable. This year we’ve seen a dip and that’s natural.
“He could potentially give them a rest, but they don’t get a rest.

“The two or three players underneath that front three Shaqiri, Minamino and Origi are not good enough.
“I would say the problems for Liverpool are not the front three, it’s Jota’s injury, the season being 100mph and the three beneath them are not good enough to give them a rest as City have pushed them.”
Shaqiri has actually shown glimpses of promise this season, but Klopp has preferred to use him in a deeper role than one of the front three.
Origi, meanwhile, does seem to be edging closer to an exit at Anfield.
The Belgian has scored some key goals for Liverpool, but has never really threatened to become a regular starter.
Minamino is now starting to look like a poor buy, as he is yet to earn the trust of Klopp.
Despite scoring against Crystal Palace, Minamino has found game time difficult, and he now appears a long way down the pecking order at Anfield.
