Gary Neville has claimed that Liverpool duo Mo Salah and Sadio Mane have been ‘the best for a number of years’, as he told Super Sunday on Sky Sports.

Liverpool and Man City battled out a 2-2 draw at Anfield yesterday, with both Mane and Salah getting on the scoresheet.

Before Salah could score probably his greatest ever Liverpool goal, in terms of quality, he was the one who fed Mane for the opener.

It was a tough opening 45 minutes for the home side, but after the restart, Jurgen Klopp’s side were a different animal.

Neville was full of praise for the two players during his commentary stint, as he shared what they have done so well for a long while now.

“They are the best,” said Neville. “They have been the best for a number of years these two, in terms of their runs, from out to in and in-behind centre-backs.

“Dias sees the the run late and he can’t stay with it. And he can’t stay with it. The finish is brilliant from Mane. He is world-class.”

It could be argued that Salah is probably the best player in world football right now because not many players can match the form he is in.

He has scored in every single game this season, aside from his side’s home win at Crystal Palace, which is a crazy record.

Even during the last campaign, when the Merseyside giants struggled because of injuries, one thing that didn’t change was the form of Salah.

And now, with Klopp being able to field his strongest XI, which has helped with the balance of the side, it has taken Salah’s game to another level.

He would walk into any team in world football right now and that’s including a certain Lionel Messi at PSG.
