Gary Neville has claimed that Georginio Wijnaldum is the most underrated player in the Premier League.
Wijnaldum has featured regularly for Liverpool over a number of seasons, but is very rarely a headline grabber.
The £25 million Dutchman (BBC Sport), instead, gets on with his job and hardly ever puts in a poor display.
Jurgen Klopp actually said that Wijnaldum had been Liverpool’s most consistent player this season at his press conference, which was broadcast earlier today.
And the compliments kept coming, as Neville claimed he was the most underrated player in the entirety of the Premier League.
Both Neville and Klopp’s comments today show just what a loss Wijnaldum would be if he does leave Liverpool.
The central midfielder’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and if the Reds cannot tie him down, he could be a very difficult player to replace.
