Arsenal have some of the best players in the Premier League, and one of them impressed Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville while playing against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal were in action against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

Arsenal are aiming to beat Liverpool and Manchester City to the Premier League title this season.

Gary Neville was following the match for Sky Sports. The former Manchester United defender was on co-commentary duty for the game.

Neville was impressed with what he saw from Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard in the opening minutes of the game.

The Sky Sports pundit noted that young midfielders should look at how the £30 million (Sky Sports) 25-year-old Norway international playmaker plays.

Against Villa, Odegaard, who is rated highly by Robbie Savage, took three shots of which none was on target, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 86.4%, took 66 touches, attempted three dribbles, and made one tackle and one interception.

Praise for Arsenal star Martin Odegaard

Neville said about Odegaard on Sky Sports Premier League (4:33 pm, April 14, 2024): “The quality of Odegaard’s touch, the way he receives the ball on the half turn is a lesson for all young midfield players that like to move forward.”

Title blow for Arsenal

Arsenal had Martin Odegaard in the starting lineup against Aston Villa, but that did not matter in the end as the Gunners lost the Premier League game.

The defeat is a big blow for Arsenal in their quest to win the Premier League title this season.

Manchester City are now two points ahead of Arsenal and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

City have won the league title for the past three seasons, and, maybe, just maybe, they could go on to become the champions of England for the fourth year in a row.
