Chelsea and Liverpool played out yet another entertaining Carabao Cup final, with Jurgen Klopp’s side, once again, writing the script in their favour.

From the get-go, it was a cagey affair at Wembley, with Liverpool youngster Conor Bradley involved in the thick of the action.

Just before the half-time break, Gary Neville was unhappy with how Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell acted towards his counterpart, as he told Sky Sports Football (25/02/24).

In the first half, both players challenged for the ball near the touchline and proceeded to get their legs tangled before there was a lot of pushing and shoving.

Gary Neville claimed that the £50 million Chelsea star was ‘trying to play’ the 20-year-old by ‘acting angry’ and then attempting to get him sent off.

In the end, Conor Bradley just walked away, with a smile on his face and made sure that he didn’t do anything stupid to get himself sent off.

The on-field referee, Chris Kavanagh just issued the duo with a yellow card each and nothing escalated after that between them.

Conor Bradley and Ben Chilwell’s heated exchange

“I think Chilwell is trying to get a reaction out of Bradley,” said Neville. “He is trying to play the youngster.

“To be fair to Bradley, he has walked away. Chilwell is looking like he is angry, but he actually isn’t. He just wants to get that young man sent off.

“Chilwell is the one who pushes Bradley, he doesn’t do much, to be fair.”

Liverpool secure another Wembley win against Chelsea

That’s six finals on the bounce that Chelsea have lost at Wembley, with Liverpool being responsible for half of those defeats, it has certainly left Jude Bellingham impressed.

Yes, Mauricio Pochettino is now coming under fire for failing to deliver a trophy, but this has been an issue for a number of years now.

But whilst Chelsea try to pick themselves up, the Liverpool players are probably still celebrating as Klopp will now finish his career at Anfield with, at least, one trophy.

The main one, and that trophy those at Liverpool crave the most, is the Premier League title and, as of this moment, destiny is in their hands.
